Fant IV hilt

Originally planned to be fantasy sword 4 (Fant IV) for Halloween 2014.

Every part are made from aluminium, some abalone shell pieces and bronze part in the hilt. I had planned to do full aluminium skulls for long time now and this swords have two of those in the guard. Hilt was made long time ago and I planned to make different kind of hilt for this, but plans changed and I took this into use. Looks good enough.

Some measurements:

Total length:  126 cm
Hilt:   30cm
Guard width:   25cm
          thickness from skull to skull:  6 cm

Blade width:  5,5cm

It takes around 4 hours from me to make one of those skulls and this have two of them. Guard is also made from 4 parts, special part on the blade is removable. I don't know proper name for it, but it took also around 4 hours to make all those round surfaces, sand and polish it. I wanted it to be smooth surfaced and it's easier to clean + polish later on. Plans didn't work so well as model what I drawed had flaws and it took some extra time to fix those flaws manually.

Blade was easiest part to make and it was last piece on my list, so I can fit it on those other pieces more easily.

I got delayed when I asked a favor from friend of mine, to add some dark paint into hilt, guard and blade decorative part. Next time, if I ask another favor, we'll talk about schedules and when I need those parts back no matter what.  My bad this time.

In overall, Nice fantasy sword and I had chance to test some my ideas. Learned a lot and got new ideas what I could try on next fantasy sword.
