The Koumanken Kurikara - Ao on Exorcist by Dekokatana The Koumanken Kurikara - Ao on Exorcist by Dekokatana
Commissioned katana styled sword for cosplay use with several different custom made aluminium parts.

Lenght is almost 110cm total. Tsuka's lenght (with Fuchi/Kashira-gane parts) is 35 cm.

Green ball is also made from aluminium and it's 27mm thick. Painted green.

Sented to Italy and I hope new owner/cosplayer gets a lot of attention with that sword.

How much would this cost?

Around 100€ + 45€ postages and that is roughly 190 USD. I don't have these on my stock, maybe I should, as this model is rather popular in commission list.

I use aluminium and mainly getting it from junkyard who sells and buys metals. I use pieces what are left over stuff, so it's cheaper and still nice, clean and sometimes like a new sheet.

Is hand made or machinery made?

I have to say, that Both.. "tsuba" part had to make using cnc milling machine, but all the rest is pure handmade. Machines can help in hard parts, but still machine can't do everything.

i must say it is truly amazing i am an actual weapons expert and while some things are off it looks amazing but just a word of advice always remember to set the katanas blade at a backwards angle if you look closely you can see that this blade leans forward and then curves back not good but the handle is very good it reminds me of the ancient generals of japans katana

I have to say, that that hande what I have used now, is second piece. As I was fitting the handle to the blade I noticed that it was completly off the line.. Good thing is, that base handle is rather easy to make from all those pieces of the sword.

Thanks! I try to keep that in my mind :) (Also pics could be sharper)

I know that several things are off and somethings are on purpose off, just I don't want that these are used for hitting anyone.

Still, good swordman uses even these if he/she wants to.

That's so cool! I love all the details, it looks absolutely amazing!
Haha, I'm making the same sword for my cosplay, but because of lack of skills, I'm using a toy katana.
And I have no idea why I'm commenting in English to another Finn. I blame peer pressure.

Anyways, checked your gallery, your works are awesome. (-:

Thanks! :) If you want same kind of sword.. I can make you one. Samma på finska, eli jos kiinnostaa samanlainen niin asiasta voidaan keskustella. Tietenkin omatekemä on aina omatekemä.

And I guess you use english so everyone can join in, if they want.
